Waiting On

The creation waits on
Though it’s been a long time
It groans through corruption and longing
The bride will be wed
The ground will give up its dead
When the bridegroom rides thundering downward!

But what lies beyond
When the earth is all gone
And the radiance shines through pure gold pavilions!
The son sits enthroned
And our sin is atoned
For in culmination of primordial promises!

The elders surround
The Godhead’s holiest ground
Crying holy is The Lord God Almighty!
Blissful happiness reigns
In the hearts of the saved
As they join in the ceaseless communion!

When time is no more
On celestial shores
The waves crash and tides raise to praise Him!
And a billion years more
As the years gone before
We’ll discover new reasons to worship!

So steadfastly we wait
Till the plans culminate
And the King comes to restore His kingdom!
And the peace in our hearts
Overcomes fiery darts
And we sing, “Maranatha, Lord Jesus!”
